CPS Collaboration

NewDay Services, as a member of the Tarrant County Fatherhood Coalition, is working closely with Child Protective Services on a research project to provide insight into the effectiveness of activities that promote non-residential father involvement on the the safety, permanency, and well-being of (their) children in the welfare system.  The data collected will be used to aid in the facilitation of nationwide policy to address this issue.  The Texas site is one of four national sites selected to participate in this project  by the National Quality Improvement Center on Non-Residential Fathers. It will receive funding from the Administration of Children & Families through the American Humane Association.  Partnering with the American Humane Association in this effort are the American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law, and the National Fatherhood Initiative.  The project will last from 2008 to 2011.  As fiscal agent for the Fatherhood Coalition, NewDay has oversight of the project.
