Chaplains are an extension of the cohesive community's historical concern for the total well-being of individuals. Chaplains seek to work in close harmony with the functional entities of the community.
Each of us is multi-dimensional with each dimension touching the others - physical, spiritual, mental, emotional & relational. All are integrated into that which becomes the total "you".
This total "you" is affected by the decisions made in the Family Courts - physically, mentally, financially, relationally, emotionally & spiritually - each aspect is impacted. Chaplains are willing to listen about matters affecting the well-being of the total person.
Often, in difficult moments, we use the expression, "Oh, God!" Chaplains seek to help persons cope with and to put the "Oh God"s of their lives into perspective.
In a medical setting, chaplains are members of the "healing team". In a court setting, chaplains offer unbiased, impartial solace toward coping with underlying internal emotional conflicts, while the legal system resolves the causative external conflicts.
The chaplain's goal is to uphold the worth of each person and help them to feel loved and cared for, whether that person is under legal process, a family member, an attorney, or an employee of the State or County.
