Tarrant County Juvenile Justice Center
"Pray to let God guide me and change my life around for the best and also keep my family in good hands."
- Juvenile Prayer request
For 20 years, NewDay Services has been an invited guest at the Juvenile Justice Center. Chaplains provide spiritual support for juveniles awaiting a court hearing, coordinate community volunteers who conduct evening Bible studies and day-long spiritual events for teens. The chaplains teach life-building concepts with the goal of increasing each participant's internal hope and motivation for their own success upon release and return to the community.
Care BearsLevel 1 Status is the highest level assigned by staff for Juveniles for their conduct while in detention. If teens maintain Level 1 for seven consecutive days, they earn the privilege of donating a Care Bear to a child at Cook Children's Medical Center. For the juvenile, this is often their first positive experience of how their action has an impact on the community.
Care Bears used in this project are donated by individuals and groups/organizations. |
