Mentor-Navigators

What are Mentor-Navigators?

Mentor-Navigators work with CPS FOCUS participants to move them from where they are now to increased self-sufficiency.  We empower them—giving them the tools and life skills to better determine their own future and the future of their children.  We strengthen their role as a parent by impacting their attitudes, knowledge and behavior. The process includes a variety of strategies, techniques and resources designed to build on participants’ strengths and overcome barriers.  By placing a dedicated mentor-navigator with fathers in our Healthy Parenting Programs, clients remain engaged, working toward healthy parenting and self-sufficiency.

How Mentor Navigators Work - Podcast
Mentor-navigation provides wrap-around, holistic services to program participants through a relational engagement strategy.  The mentor-navigators are of tremendous value to the parents attending our FOCUS program.  Parents get life skills from the classes, but also a person to help reinforce concepts and recognize opportunities within real-world situations.
